You will need,

• Swimwear that won’t fall down, or annoy you during your lesson
• A towel
• Sunscreen – please apply before you arrive
• Drinking water
• Your booking voucher (printed or on your phone)
• And most importantly a HUGE smile!! Get ready for some fun!!!

That’s the beauty about surfing, you’re going to get wet anyway! So if it’s raining, learn to surf sessions will still be on.

If there is lightning or thunder, we will cancel or reschedule the session—but you will hear from us before this happens. All cancellations are posted on our Facebook page, so make sure you like, and follow our page.

A basic level of swimming is required for beginner lessons. If you can dog paddle‚ you will be right to start!

We will provide you with the following when you arrive for your lesson:

• Surfboard/Smooth Star Skate Board
• Wetsuit in the cooler months
• Rash Shirt
• Professional instruction from our awesome, experienced surf coaches

Please remember to provide & apply your own sunscreen before your lesson begins.

The minimum age for lessons is 4 years old—other than that there is no age barrier when it comes to learning to surf! ?

No, parents you can totally chill out! You are free to go & have a coffee at one of the fabulous nearby coffee shops, or relax on the beach & take photos. Easy!

All first time surfers will receive a text with the surfing location & meeting point details.

All XL Surfing Members will have access to this information via our TEAM App each day.

Like all sports, you will be taken through a serious of warm up stretches as well as surfing techniques on the beach for about 10-15 minutes before we head out into the water for around 45 minutes of surfing ?‍♂️

Unfortunately no. As part of our safety procedures, no goggles are permitted.

All surfers need to be at the meeting point 15 minutes before the session begins so we can allocate your surf coach, give you a surfboard, a rashie & brief you on your upcoming session.

Please allow a further 5 minutes if you are a new member joining for the first time.

We are in a popular surfing & recreational area, so please allow plenty of time to find a park & be at the meeting point on time.

CANCELLATION PERIOD

Should you or any member of your party need to cancel your chosen lesson/program once it has been confirmed, the party leader must immediately advise us by phone, or email. Your notice of cancellation will only be effective when it is received by us at our office 48 hours before your scheduled booking. If we receive your cancellation at least 48 hours prior to your lesson, we can reschedule a make up lesson, or provide a full refund to you. Cancellations inside of 48 hours are non-refundable.

REFUND

No refunds will be given in respect of activities which you book & then do not take part in full or in part for ANY of the following;

• You missed the start time or whole lesson because you couldn’t find the meeting place. We provide clear instructions of where & when to meet—it is your responsibility to be organised, allow time for parking & making your way to the meeting place on time
• You overslept
• Are hungover
• Are under the influence of drugs
• You forgot
• You mixed up the date
• You simply changed your mind

If any member(s) of your party is/are prevented from travelling, the person(s) concerned will be able to transfer their place to someone else (introduced by you—not to a current member) providing our basic requirements are met.

CHANGES OR CANCELLATIONS BY US.
In the rare event we have to make a significant change, or cancel your lesson, we will tell you as soon as possible & offer you a rescheduled lesson, or full refund.
